InfoMine Sees Exceptional Growth in 2008

By Julian Houlding, COO, March 19th, 2009 - PERMALINK

InfoMine statistics 2008InfoMine saw exceptional growth in viewership through 2008 and continues to see even greater growth as we kick off 2009 in a turbulent global economic crisis. Visits to InfoMine sites were up more than 200,000 over January 2008; page views were up more than three times that number for the same period.

Global InfoMine continued to dominate views and visits. More than half of all InfoMine traffic found its way onto and through Global InfoMine. The site continues to cater to the global English speaking mining community and covers everything from news, jobs, and professional development, to suppliers, equipment, technology, company and property information.

InfoMine Geographics
InfoMine continued its expansion into Latin America through 2008 with growth of both its Lima, Peru and Belo Horizonte, Brazil offices. Approximately 30% of visitors originated from Latin America, and most of those visits were made to one of our many Spanish or Portuguese Brasil web editions.

North American traffic was also up numerically with the launch of MINING.com Magazine, News and most recently Video. MINING.com Magazine - a magazine to facilitate the discovery of mining information online - has been well adopted after just four issues. Each issue is sent to more than 60,000 readers via air mail and email (see magazine.mining.com). MINING.com News, launched mid 2008, is a news service covering the global mining industry 24/7/365. Over 100 news items arrive by wire to the site each day. MINING.com Video - one of our most recent launches - provides a library of mining related videos from around the globe. Over 1,000 videos have already been cataloged and cover everything from education and mine overviews, to news, equipment and general interest (see video.mining.com).

InfoMine Visitor Profile 2008Fort McMurray Online (FMO) was launched early 2008, and has accelerated to become our fastest growing website ever. FMO caters to the mining community located closest to the oil sands in Alberta, Canada. The site includes a job board, business directory, travel information and much more (see www.gofmo.com)

Other noteworthy numbers include, EduMine - with over 1,700 active enrollees and more than 100 online courses, CareerMine - with a peak of over 15,000 active jobs in September 2008, and SupplyMine with over 17,000 companies listed in the buyers guide.

InfoMine also sent more than 2 million subscripton based emails each month. Our newsletters cover everything from daily news, to job alerts, to what is new or newsworthy on InfoMine and are available in several different languages. You can subscribe to some of our newsletters and emails through the mail list management system (see mlms.infomine.com), or through specific site sections e.g. job alerts can be found in CareerMine (see www.careermine.com)

Also contributing to traffic were more than 700,000 charts delivered each month to InfoMine, partner and other worldwide web sites. InfoMine has 39 commodity charts and is in the process of adding even more (see charts.infomine.com)

Lastly, more than 15 million advertising banners were delivered each month from the InfoMine network of web site and newsletter editions. The InfoMine network of web sites provide some of the best opportunities for advertising exposure to a mining audience.

InfoMine would like to thank its loyal and new visitors, and looks forward to providing even more information, intelligence and technology to the global mining industry through 2009.
